The use of hydrogen peroxide in diseases of the ears. Is it possible to drip hydrogen peroxide into the ear? 3 drops of peroxide in each ear

Hydrogen peroxide is often used in the treatment of inflammation in the ears, as well as to get rid of sulfur plugs. This affordable tool is available in any home first aid kit. It has antiseptic and hemostatic properties. However, a concentrated solution of this drug is a rather aggressive substance. So is it possible to fill it in? Will this remedy burn the delicate mucous membrane ear canal? We will consider this question further.

The medicinal properties of the drug

Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful oxidizer and antiseptic. This liquid effectively fights pathogenic microflora. In addition, the drug stimulates blood circulation and lymph outflow, thereby contributing to the healing and restoration of damaged mucosa. The drug also has slight immunomodulatory properties.

If hydrogen peroxide is poured into the ears, this liquid will dissolve wax plugs and other impurities in the ear canal. Unlike many other local antiseptics, the solution does not cause burning when it comes into contact with the wound surface. When applied, the drug forms a foam, which helps to remove foreign particles from the wound and ear canal.

Indications for use

You can drip hydrogen peroxide into your ears when the following diseases:

  1. Inflammation of the ear canal. Most often, this disease has a bacterial or fungal origin. Pain occurs in the ear passage, mucous or purulent discharge appears. The solution effectively destroys bacteria and fungi. In such cases, hydrogen peroxide is usually used as part of complex therapy and complements other medications.
  2. Inflammation (otitis) in the outer and middle part of the ear. Pathology is caused by viruses or bacteria. The source of infection in this case is usually located in the nasal cavity. From there, microorganisms enter the middle ear. The disease is accompanied by shooting pain and discharge from the organ of hearing. Timely treatment with hydrogen peroxide will not allow the infection to go to the eardrum.
  3. Sulfur plugs. With rare or insufficient cleaning of the ears, earwax accumulates in the ear canal. Over time, this substance becomes solid. Clogs are formed that clog the passage. A person's hearing deteriorates and there is a sensation of tinnitus. The hydrogen peroxide softens the sulfur plugs, making them much easier to remove with water or cotton swabs.

In the treatment of these diseases, it is very important to observe the dosage and concentration of the solution.

Contraindications

Is it possible to drip hydrogen peroxide into the ear with an internal form of otitis media? This drug can be used only if the inflammation is localized in the outer or middle part of the hearing organ. With internal otitis (labyrinthitis), when the pathological process affects the cochlea, the use of the solution is useless. The drug will not help in any way, since inflammation develops behind the eardrum. Fluid cannot penetrate into such deep sections of the ear.

Often, patients are interested in: "Can hydrogen peroxide be dripped into the ear if hearing has deteriorated?" First of all, it is necessary to establish the cause of the resulting hearing loss. Hearing loss may be associated with a rupture of the eardrum, and then the use of peroxide is strictly prohibited. The solution can enter through the hole in eardrum into the inner ear. This is fraught with complete hearing loss. Drip hydrogen peroxide into the ear is possible only with a whole eardrum.

Care must also be taken when treating children. For a child under 1 year old, it is better not to bury the solution in the ear. In the treatment of infants, the drug should be applied to cotton swabs and carefully insert the turundas into the ear canal. If the baby is older than 1 year, then a pipette can be used to instill hydrogen peroxide into the ear. Filling the solution with a syringe is not recommended.

What form of the drug should be used

In pharmacy chains, you can find hydrogen peroxide in tablets and solution. To process the ears, you need to choose a ready-made liquid form drug. Tablets are intended for the preparation of a concentrated solution, which is used when lightening hair.

If you want to pour hydrogen peroxide into the ear, then it is recommended to choose a drug with a concentration of no more than 3%. A stronger solution can cause chemical burns and overdrying of the mucous membrane.

How to get rid of wax plugs

Hydrogen peroxide usually helps with small, light-colored plugs. If there is a severe blockage of the passage with dark-colored earwax, it is better to consult a doctor. It is very difficult to remove such a cork at home.

When cleaning the ears from sulfur, the following procedure should be followed:

  1. The patient should be placed on their side with the ear up.
  2. The solution must be warmed in the hands so that it is warm.
  3. Drop 10-15 drops of hydrogen peroxide into the ear and lie down for 10 minutes.
  4. Roll over to the other side. Place a towel or tissue under your ear. The liquid must flow out completely.
  5. Remove the softened cork with cotton swabs.

After instillation of the solution, hissing and warmth may be felt in the ears. This is normal. If an excessive amount of hydrogen peroxide is poured, then foam may come out. With old traffic jams, the procedure has to be repeated three or four times.

The use of peroxide for otitis media

The use of the drug for otitis and inflammation of the ear canal is possible due to the disinfectant properties of the solution. The algorithm of actions during treatment is approximately the same as when cleaning the ears from traffic jams:

  1. The person lies on one side, up with a sore ear.
  2. The solution is warmed in the hands for about 2 minutes.
  3. 2-3 drops of the solution are poured into the affected ear.
  4. The auricle is massaged, and after 10 minutes the head is tilted to the other side.
  5. It is necessary to wait for the complete leakage of peroxide.

This procedure is carried out 5-6 days 2-3 times a day.

How much solution can be applied

Pour hydrogen peroxide into the ear with sulfur plugs is allowed no more than 5 days. If congestion in the ear persists during this period, then you should contact an otolaryngologist. The doctor will wash the ear canal with a special Janet syringe.

Treatment of inflammation of the ear canal and middle ear is also continued for about 5-6 days. Prolonged use of the solution is not recommended, as this can cause overdrying of the mucosa.

Can Hydrogen Peroxide Harm Your Ears?

Usually, instillation of hydrogen peroxide does no harm. The use of the solution will be safe if you follow simple rules:

  1. Do not clean your ears with the solution too often. Apply peroxide only when traffic jams form. Earwax is needed to protect the ear canal from pathogens. Constantly washing out this substance can deprive the hearing organ of protection against infections.
  2. Do not increase the allowable concentration of the solution. It will not speed up the healing process. Too strong a solution can cause a burn or excessive dryness of the mucosa.
  3. Some patients have individual intolerance to hydrogen peroxide. In this case, the use of the drug is contraindicated. If, after applying the solution, the patient has allergic reactions, then it is necessary to urgently stop treatment.

Before instillation of hydrogen peroxide, it is necessary to consult with an otolaryngologist. With internal otitis, the use of the solution is categorically contraindicated. Therefore, before treating otitis media, it is necessary to undergo an accurate diagnosis.

Hydrogen peroxide is inexpensive and effective antiseptic. It is mainly used to disinfect wounds. But many people also put hydrogen peroxide in their ear to cure some colds and remove wax plugs.

When to Use Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is inexpensive, so it is available in almost every home. As a result, it has been widely used. It is also used for the ears: to remove plugs, to treat hearing loss and otitis media, to disinfect the ear canals, to cleanse them of accumulated dirt.

Features of removing traffic jams

With the accumulation of sulfur in the area of the ear passages, if the hygiene of the ears is not observed due to the use of cotton swabs, a plug may form. It may not bother the patient, but over time, he will begin to hear worse. Therefore, it must be removed. Hydrogen peroxide in ear plugs is used to soften them.

If you proceed to remove hard plugs, they can be pushed even harder, which can lead to pain and even more hearing loss. In this case, to remove the plugs, you will have to seek help from an otolaryngologist.

The process goes like this:

  • Take a medical syringe, remove the needle from it. Draw up half a syringe of peroxide (3%).
  • Lie on your side and put 10 drops of the substance into your ear. If there are plugs in both ear canals at once, repeat the procedure for the second ear, but after 5-10 minutes. During this time, the peroxide should be absorbed, and the cork will soften. The patient may feel hissing and bursting of bubbles - this means that the process has begun.
  • After 10 minutes, you need to straighten your head. Peroxide with ear plug particles will begin to flow out of the ear. It is necessary to carefully remove contamination with ear sticks previously moistened with warm water.

Peroxide can also be used to prevent the occurrence of sulfur plugs. Softened contaminants are easier to remove and do not push deep when exposed to them with ear sticks.

For stuffy ears

Feeling stuffy can occur for a variety of reasons. If such a symptom is observed constantly, most likely, the patient has an ear plug. In the presence of concomitant colds, otitis media is possible.

Sometimes congestion is associated with a runny nose. When trying to remove mucus from the nose, the patient blows his nose. And if a runny nose does not go away within a few days, ear congestion may appear. In this case, it is necessary to disinfect the auditory organ daily. Once a day, with congestion, 5 drops of peroxide should be dripped into each auditory opening. The course of treatment is up to 10 days.

If immediately after instillation the patient does not feel relief or there is no result after 3-4 days, it is necessary to consult an ENT doctor. Indeed, in the presence of diseases, special ear treatment is required, in the absence of which serious complications are possible.

For the treatment of otitis media

In most cases, otitis occurs as a result of infection in the ear, but the disease can be non-infectious. Accompanied by severe pain, which is difficult to endure. There may also be redness and swelling in the area of the auditory organ. If these symptoms occur, you should contact the ENT.

But if the signs appeared at night, and there is no way to immediately get medical advice, you can alleviate the discomfort with the help of peroxide. With otitis media, you need to use it like this:

  • Mix 10 drops of the substance with 1 tsp. distilled water - water for injection. If it is not available, ordinary, but necessarily boiled water will do.

Before instillation, you need to warm the product to room temperature. To do this, draw it into a pipette or medical syringe and warm it in your hand for about 5 minutes.

  • Lie on your side and drip 5 drops of the prepared solution into the sore ear. There should be a hiss and a sensation of bubbles popping. If foam comes out of the ear, this is also normal, which means that peroxide disinfects it.
  • Wait until the effect of the drug wears off. Tilt your head to the other side so that the remaining solution is removed.

You can use peroxide to relieve the symptoms of otitis media in a different way. Moisten a small piece of cotton wool in a warm solution and put in a sore ear. Apply heat from above. For example, you can pour cornmeal warmed up in a pan into a bag - it warms well.

After the procedure, pain should become less pronounced. If relief does not come, at home, you can prepare another effective remedy. One Walnut remove the shell and fry it. Then crush under pressure. Take walnut oil into a pipette and drip into the ear canal. It will soften the mucous membrane, reduce inflammation, so after a while the pain should go away.

With hearing loss

This pathology can appear for various reasons. Most often, it is a complication of sulfur plugs, otitis, inflammation and trauma. Pathology is accompanied serious violations hearing. The patient does not hear faint sounds well, and the noise causes him severe irritation.

I. P. Neumyvakin developed a number of methods for using peroxide for the ears. He proved that the drug perfectly disinfects the ears, strengthens local immunity, and with regular use is a good prevention of otitis media. Treatment of hearing loss with hydrogen peroxide according to Neumyvakin has a number of features:

  • If the product is used for the first time, it should not be too concentrated. It is recommended that its concentration is not higher than 0.3-0.5%. For this, in 1 tbsp. l. boiled water dilute 10 or 15 drops of the substance.
  • If the patient has already instilled hydrogen peroxide into the ears several times, the concentration of the drug can be increased to 1-2%. In this case, it is necessary to dilute 10-15 drops of the product in 1 tsp. water.
  • Neumyvakin does not recommend burying the remedy in the ear, especially for a child who is not a year old. This can damage the eardrums and cause hearing loss. It is better to moisten a cotton swab and gently insert it into the ear canal.

This technique cannot be used as the only treatment for hearing loss. Be sure to consult a doctor who will prescribe the required treatment. The use of peroxide is possible, but only as an auxiliary method of therapy.

How to clean your ears with hydrogen peroxide correctly

Ear cleaning with hydrogen peroxide can be done regularly when contamination appears. This method of cleansing is more effective than using ear sticks - there is a lower risk of wax plugs.

But during the process, you must follow a number of rules:

  • It is best to clean your ears after taking a bath. This will soften the sulfur, so when peroxide is introduced, it will almost completely dissolve and come out.
  • The solution should be slightly warm. Using a cold product can lead to inflammation of the ear, and too hot can lead to burns.
  • For an adult, the concentration of the substance can be up to 3%, but for children it should be lower - the washing solution should contain no more than 1% peroxide. Otherwise, hydrogen peroxide can irritate the ear lining and cause partial hearing loss.
  • You can bury the solution yourself, but it is better for someone to help. This will make it easier to follow the required dosage.

In addition, a peroxide solution can also be used to remove foreign particles from the ear. For example, if a child gets in the ear foreign body, you can clean the auditory organ with peroxide - foreign particles will float and can be easily removed.

Contraindications

Before washing your ears with hydrogen peroxide, you need to study possible contraindications to carry out the procedure. In some cases, the substance can be harmful and further aggravate the situation. It is contraindicated:

  • children under 6 months;
  • people who have previously suffered injuries in the ear area, which led to the appearance of a hole in the eardrum;
  • in the presence of an inflammatory process - its use can lead to fever, headache and other complications;
  • peroxide for pain in the ear caused by purulent otitis media is not recommended - its use can cause the abscess to rupture and enter its contents into the brain.

If the ear hurts after hydrogen peroxide, it is urgent to rinse the ear canal. Further use of the solution is not recommended, otherwise it may lead to irritation of the mucous membrane.

If redness occurs after using the substance, you should consult your doctor. Possible chemical burn, which may require the use of additional means.

Thus, hydrogen peroxide can be used not only to disinfect wounds, but also to rinse the ears at home. With its help, you can remove various impurities and cure some diseases. The tool is safe and practically does not cause side effects and its low price makes it accessible to all people.

Hydrogen peroxide is one of the strongest septic tanks. Upon contact with a damaged area of the skin or mucous membranes, active oxygen is released. It helps to carry out mechanical cleaning. The action is also aimed at the impact of certain organic substances contained in pus or blood.

Peroxide comes in a variety of forms. Highly concentrated formulations are not used in medicine. In pharmacies, 3 and 6% solutions are presented. The first option is more commonly used. It will be enough for him.

Despite the relatively low cost, the drug is able to get rid of many difficulties with the ears. Due to the low concentration with the help of the drug, you will not damage the inner shell of the shell, the eardrum.

For children, you can make the solution even less saturated. To do this, take a tablespoon of water and dissolve 10-15 drops of peroxide in it. This concentration is also optimal if you just want to remove a small sulfur plug.

Indications

There are many indications for the procedure. Peroxide will cope with small and massive sulfur plugs, clean the ear cavity from dirt. You can simply disinfect the ear canal.

This remedy is used in the treatment of:

  • some,
  • forms,
  • and scratches

With otitis media

Due to its disinfectant properties, hydrogen peroxide is used for. Hydrogen peroxide disinfects cracks and foci, preventing the appearance of.

Warm solution should be used. To do this, you need to hold it in your hands for several minutes or use warm water for dilution.

Using a pipette, 2-3 drops are dripped. Massage your ear, and after 10 minutes, tilt your head so that excess fluid flows out. The procedure is repeated 2-3 times a day for 5-7 days.

How to use hydrogen peroxide for otitis, see our video:

Since hydrogen peroxide is an antiseptic and disinfectant, it can be used to treat various ENT diseases: otitis, hearing loss, otomycosis, scratches, injuries and chronic ear diseases. The ear is one of the main vital organs of a person, therefore, in case of any pathology, it must be treated qualitatively and correctly.

When treating ears at home, it is extremely important to consider all recipes, instructions and recommendations. For example, doctors recommend 3% peroxide, as it most effectively softens and dissolves earwax of any density. Another important factor is adults and children. With self-treatment of ear diseases in children, it should be taken into account - the concentration of peroxide should be less. In order not to cause more harm, it is advisable to read the recommendations in the article.

Hydrogen peroxide is widely used for therapeutic purposes. Due to its antiseptic qualities and the absence of a negative effect on the human body, H2O2 is used to treat various inflammations of the middle and outer ear.

  1. Inflammatory diseases of the ear canal caused by infection. Clinical symptoms are: hearing loss and intense pain. As a result of the multiplication of bacteria, the release of mucus or pus is likely. Proper use of peroxide in combination with medications will completely eliminate a harmful infection.
  2. Sulfur plugs in the ears (formation in the ear canal of sulfur of different density, color and consistency). Signs: tinnitus and hearing loss. The most common causes are poor ear hygiene and increased wax production. When peroxide is instilled into the ear, a reaction occurs from contact with sulfur. This process softens sulfur of any density, which further helps to wash the cork.
  3. Otitis media/otitis externa. Inflammation of an infectious nature, provoked by harmful bacteria and viruses. Purulent otitis very often touches the eardrum, and treatment and prevention with peroxide can prevent this.

In addition, indications for the use of H2O2 are: furuncles of the auricle and auditory canal, ear canal otomycosis, catarrhal purulent formations, diffuse otitis media, various ear injuries, ear fungus. Possessing the strongest antibacterial property, compared to other antiseptics, 3% hydrogen peroxide absolutely does not cause pain.

How to treat otitis media with hydrogen peroxide

Treatment of otitis with hydrogen peroxide helps to separate purulent accumulations in the ear and at the same time provides a disinfectant treatment.

For the treatment of otitis media, low-concentration peroxide is used. Therefore, a 3% solution sold must be diluted with distilled or boiled water in the following ratio: adult 1:1, child 1:3. In addition, in any manipulations with the ears, peroxide must be heated, but not more than 37 ° C (put in your pocket or tightly squeeze the vial in your palm).

Treatment of otitis at home is carried out in three ways, depending on the complexity of the pathology:

  1. Launched form: form the most dense swab with a diameter of not more than 5 mm from cotton wool and bandage. Cotton wool - an absorbent inner layer, the bandage gives density and prevents cotton villi from getting deep into the ear canal.

The course of the procedure:

  • thoroughly moisten the turunda in a peroxide solution so that it is completely saturated, and squeeze out excess liquid;
  • insert a swab into a sore ear;
  • hold the compress for 10-15 minutes;
  • do the procedure at least 2 times a day and no more than 4.

It is absolutely impossible to increase the application time and leave the turunda in the ear overnight!

  1. If you're worried purulent otitis media, then instillation is exactly what you need:
  • it is convenient to sit down and tilt your head to one side or lie on the opposite side;
  • using an ordinary pipette, drip 4-6 drops of diluted peroxide into the patient's ear;
  • so that the liquid can go deeper and more effectively act on the inflamed area, you need to press the tragus several times with your finger (a small cartilaginous protrusion on the outer ear before entering the passage), creating a vacuum inside the auditory canal. In this case, there will probably be a deaf noise in the ear, but this is normal and you should not worry;
  • after 10-15 minutes, tilt your head so that fluid flows out of the ear. With a swab, clean the vestibule of the entrance to the canal from serous secretions and dry the auricle dry from the remnants of the drug with a napkin.

Repeat the procedure twice a day every day for 4-5 days.

  1. If a purulent boil erupted in the ear canal, it is necessary to do washing with hydrogen peroxide. Most effective method presented by Professor Neumyvakin. The goal is to cleanse the diseased ear from a purulent mass and disinfect it.
  • comfortable to sit/lie down;
  • in a disposable new syringe (without a needle), draw 1 ml of diluted peroxide solution and gently (not sharply) pour the contents into the ear canal. The syringe is inserted into the channel no more than 5 mm;
  • hold for 2-3 minutes and, leaning in the opposite direction, get rid of the liquid;
  • the procedure is repeated 4 times in a row.

Treatment of otitis media with 3% peroxide is due to the antiseptic qualities of the drug. Peroxide suppresses pathogenic activity, effectively eliminating emerging inflammatory processes. With external otitis, this remedy perfectly flushes out purulent contents, cleanses the ear canal from harmful pathogenic flora, and saturates the tissues of the auditory organ with oxygen.

hydrogen peroxide for earache

If the ear hurts, and there is no time to queue at the clinic, you can get rid of discomfort with the help of 3% hydrogen peroxide. The effectiveness of such treatment has been proven by thousands of reviews and a mass of scientific papers. Peroxide has an immunomodulatory and regenerating effect. Under the influence of the medicinal solution, the population of all pathogenic microorganisms is reduced.

When pulsating (shooting) and pronounced pains in the ears begin to disturb, the reasons may be different:

  • recent infectious diseases;
  • inflammation of the outer and middle ear;
  • sulfur plugs;
  • otitis;
  • circulatory disorders in the vessels of the inner ear;
  • perforation of the tympanic membrane.

When interacting with any organic substances, H2O2, being a powerful oxidizing agent, causes a strong aseptic effect, and pathogenic fungi, viruses, bacteria die. It is this factor that will help you recover quickly.

Ear pain can be reduced by:

  1. Turundas soaked in a solution of peroxide and essential oil. Moisten long gauze flagella (turundas) in the composition, insert into the auditory canal and leave it in it until it dries. Peroxide fights inflammation and destroys germs, and essential oils walnut or mint is very good at relieving pain.
  2. Instillation of a solution of H2O2, water and almond oil. If the pain in the ear is from a wax plug, minor inflammation, or due to a scratch in the ear canal (for example, from cleaning with a match), then this composition will not only soften sharp pains, but also disinfect the passage. 7 drops of peroxide, 7 drops of boiled water, 2 drops of oil - mix thoroughly in one container. Drop a pipette into the ear and insert a tampon so that it does not leak out. Hold for 3-5 minutes, do 2-3 times a day.
  3. Three percent hydrogen peroxide, propolis, water and bay leaf. To prepare drops for ear pain, 4 large bay leaves and a glass of ordinary water are taken - boil over low heat for 1.5 hours. For 1 tablespoon of decoction, 5 drops of peroxide and propolis. Drip into the affected ear 4-6 drops for 4-5 days.

Hearing loss treatment with hydrogen peroxide

Treatment of hearing loss with hydrogen peroxide is carried out due to foaming, through which the mechanical cleaning of the ear canal from all kinds of pathologies occurs. In medicine, this disease is divided into 2 groups: conductive and neurosensory.

  1. Neurosensory - disturbances in the perception of sounds. Such a deviation develops from a barely perceptible hearing loss, but gradually this condition turns into severe forms. If you miss the moment - there is a high probability of losing your hearing forever!
  2. Conductive hearing loss - violations in the mechanism of transmission of sounds.

Professor I.P. Neumyvakin recommends for hearing loss:

  • Dissolve 15 drops of H2O2 in 1 tablespoon of distilled or boiled water.
  • 3-4 drops of the resulting 0.5% peroxide solution drip into the ear canal.
  • Hold for 2-3 minutes and remove all contents from the diseased ear with an ear stick.
  • Such wellness manipulations should be done 2 times a day.

The second way: moisten the turunda in the same solution and insert directly into the auditory canal for 3-5 minutes.

Treatment of hearing loss by one method or another must be continued until the absolute disappearance of signs of the disease. Only in this way will peroxide bring a positive effect.

Treatment of a damaged ear with hydrogen peroxide

The beneficial effect of peroxide activates metabolic processes in all cells, which increases local immunity and speeds up recovery. In contact with the affected skin, peroxide decomposes into atomic oxygen and water. The procedure promotes softening of necrotic (dead) tissue areas, release of purulent masses from the wound and blood clotting.

To treat the ear, apply 5 drops of peroxide at a concentration of 3% to a cotton swab and swipe over the damaged area several times.

The uniqueness of hydrogen peroxide is that, due to its properties, it is used to treat such pathologies as:

  • injuries (scratches) caused by an ear stick, a nail, a match;
  • cracks in the upper layers of the skin;
  • cold on the ear (dermatological manifestations);
  • cuts, punctures, abrasions, etc.

Treatment of the ear with hydrogen peroxide neutralizes infections that can provoke suppuration and other complications. When treating an injury, H2O2 begins to foam strongly, removing everything harmful from the lesion and at the same time conducting high-quality disinfection. After therapeutic procedures, the edges of the wound should be smeared with iodine, but it should not be allowed to get inside the wound.

The peroxide solution is colorless and odorless, non-toxic, therefore it can be used to treat a damaged ear in both adults and young children.

Wound treatment is carried out with a gauze swab dipped in a solution. You need to apply it to the site of injury. It is also necessary to thoroughly moisten the surface of the wound so that there are no untreated areas left.

It is impossible to pour peroxide on an open deep wound directly from the vial. Only small superficial damages (abrasions, scratches, etc.) can be treated with this method. Deep wounds, for example, various cuts (especially in the ear canal) are treated exclusively with a moistened gauze swab.

When piercing the ears (lobes, auricle, tragus), the greatest risk of contamination and infection occurs in the first 3-4 weeks. It is during this period that the wound is vulnerable. Start only after thoroughly washing your hands with antibacterial soap. Then moisten a cotton swab in 3% peroxide and treat the ears 2 times a day.

Contraindications

There are certain contraindications in the treatment with hydrogen peroxide. Therefore, in order not to cause even more problems to yourself or your loved ones or not to provoke complications, it is recommended that you first familiarize yourself with the contraindications. So, for example, for health purposes, peroxide should not be used categorically for:

  • hyperthyroidism and hypersensitivity (allergy);
  • perforation of the tympanic membrane and the acute phase of a severe form of internal otitis;
  • inflammation of the inner ear and lesions of the auditory canals with a purulent secret from the facial sinuses (sinusitis, etc.);
  • chronic diseases and repeated manifestations of relapses after previous peroxide therapy.

Peroxide is ideal for various therapeutic measures, both from the point of view of traditional medicine and folk medicine. But it should be understood and always remembered - in case of any serious pathologies, the decision to use H2O2 in medicinal purposes should be taken exclusively by a doctor, focusing directly on the clinic of the disease.

In the video, Alexander Zakurdaev shares tips for treating ears with peroxide.

Tinnitus and even nausea can be caused by seemingly harmless cerumen. Earwax is essential. It performs a number of protective functions, due to its composition, and counteracts the development of bacteria and fungus in the ear canals. The hearing organs are arranged in such a way that the sulfur that has fulfilled its function leaves the ear canal itself during chewing movements, but sometimes due to its tortuous structure or with our help (mechanical cleaning of earwax using matches, cotton swabs and other devices), it accumulates and forms cork. If it is located close to the eardrum, then in addition to hearing loss, other symptoms may occur: headache, nausea, convulsions.

Why do they appear ear plugs?

Several factors contribute to the appearance of plugs and stagnation of sulfur. This is the bending of the ear canal, the inability to naturally exit due to external obstacles, the inherent properties of earwax. Most often, traffic jams are observed in people who wear hearing aids and earbuds. They mechanically block the release of sulfur, locking it up and causing it to accumulate. When the cork is large and dry, hydrogen peroxide is used to soften it. A few drops should be put into the ear. This procedure is performed by an otolaryngologist. With the help of special devices, he determines where the cork is located and sees how far it is removed. Corks are lamellar, paste-like, dry. If the first two options are easy to extract even just with water, then the latter is extremely difficult to remove, which is why they use hydrogen peroxide in the ear.

How do you know if you have an ear plug?

The ear plug becomes noticeable at times of high humidity, when it swells, expands and begins to put pressure on the eardrum. If you have pain in your ear, and there is no way to get to the doctor right now, you can get rid of sulfur at home. To do this, you need to soften the ear plugs. Hydrogen peroxide as a remedy for this is a very good option.

Removing sulfur plug at home
  • We tilt our head so that the blocked ear is in a horizontal position, having previously prepared the remedy.
  • Hydrogen peroxide should be carefully dripped into the ear from a pipette, you only need 5 drops of a 3% solution. He will hiss and begin to foam, you do not need to be afraid of this.
  • Hold your head in this position for 10-15 minutes.
  • Wipe off any liquid that appears with a cotton swab. Do not clean your ears too deeply, as this will only push the wax in.
  • Repeat the procedure a few more times during the week until all the sulfur plug is gone.
  • Instead of hydrogen peroxide, you can use vaseline oil (warmed up in a water bath). It also softens sulfur very well.

Don't overdo it!

By dropping hydrogen peroxide into your ear, you can clean out the plug completely. But do not overdo it during this procedure! After removing the stopper, do not scrub all the sulfur to sterility. Remember: she is the protective barrier of your auricles from pathogenic bacteria. If you care about your health, then at the first sign of sulfur plugs, it is better to consult a doctor for the right treatment. A specialist can also relieve you of the problem by using hydrogen peroxide in the ear or special tools. Everything happens as quickly and painlessly as possible.
