Composition features

Askofen P contains acetylsalicylic acid, which has analgesic properties and relieves fever, blocking the development of inflammation.

This substance inhibits enzymes that are involved in the formation of prostaglandins that block the release of inflammatory mediators.

The next ingredient is caffeine. Its effect is observed in the removal of headaches in humans. The exercise component reduces the excitability of the spinal cord.

Attention! Askofen effectively helps with headaches, dilates blood capillaries, neutralizing pain.

Using the pills, the patient feels a surge of energy, lack of fatigue and drowsiness, the pain is neutralized not only in the head, but also in other parts of the body. Motor activity returns to normal, the brain begins to work hard. The tone of the capillaries of the brain returns to normal, which stimulates blood flow.

The composition of Askofen P includes not one active substance, but several:

  • acetylsalicylic acid - normalizes body temperature, eliminates inflammation and anesthetizes;
  • phenacetin - normalizes temperature indicators, preventing them from falling to a minimum value;
  • - serves to eliminate pain, relieve swelling of the limbs and eliminate heat in diseases;
  • caffeine - has a tonic effect, increases mental and physical activity normalizes the work of all body systems.

The interaction of these components leads to an increase in the positive effect. Due to this composition, it is possible to use b Askofen during early pregnancy to eliminate pain in the head or lower back. The components do not adversely affect the developing fetus in the first weeks of gestation.

The drug is available only in the form of dragees. Askofen tablets are presented in a flat-cylindrical form of a light shade. The tool does not have a specific aroma or taste, so it is easily accepted by both kids and adults. In the pharmacy, the medication can be purchased in packages with 1-2 blisters of 10 tablets.

Indications for use

The drug is designed to eliminate pain in any part of the body, so it is recommended as a therapy for various diseases.

Indications for use medicinal product:

  • colds with fever;
  • radicular syndrome of the cervical, lumbar or thoracic regions;
  • cramps during menstruation;
  • removal of toothache;
  • elimination of pain in the head, muscles or joints;

How does it affect pressure

The drug is aimed at eliminating pain in the body. To reveal how Askofen works - it increases or lowers pressure, you can only do it yourself.

What effect do the individual components have on a person:

  1. Acetylsalicylic acid is able to slightly expand blood capillaries. At the same time, the level of hemoglobin decreases, which leads to poor blood clotting;
  2. Phenacetin - does not affect blood flow or pressure;
  3. Paracetamol - creates a slight positive effect at reduced pressure, normalizing the human condition. At high blood pressure the use of the drug does not bring the desired result;
  4. Caffeine is the only ingredient that increases arterial pressure. Doses in tablets are enough to increase the performance and keep them at a certain level for a long time.

As experiments have shown, with increased pressure, taking this medication does not have a special result. Only if the pressure is fixed at the lower levels, a positive effect is possible.

Askofen at low pressure is more effective, increases its rate, which leads to the normalization of all processes in the body. Eliminated headache and lethargy, drowsiness goes away, there is a desire to work

Attention! Hypertensive patients need to use the drug carefully, constantly monitoring their condition and pressure indicators.

Using the drug, it is impossible to provoke the occurrence of a hypertensive crisis. This is due to the fact that the dosage of caffeine in tablets with short-term use for therapy is not able to negatively affect the patient's well-being. But before using the drug, it is recommended to consult with your doctor.

Both drugs are identified as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The drugs have the same composition and the country of origin - Russia. The release is carried out only in tablet form.

Citramon differs from Askofen in that it additionally contains citric acid and cocoa, which enhance the taste and aroma of the medicine.

Attention! The main difference between drugs is different dosage. Askofen has 40 mg less aspirin than Citramon. But there is much more caffeine and paracetamol - by 20 and 10 mg, respectively. But minor deviations in dosages do not affect the degree of positive effect.

It is difficult to determine exactly which Askofen or Citramon is better. Medicines have an identical spectrum of action and give the same result after administration.

pharmachologic effect

Acetylsalicylic acid inhibits the process of biosynthesis of pain and inflammation mediators - prostaglandins, thereby reducing swelling and the severity of pain in diseases of inflammatory origin. This substance is able to slow down platelet aggregation, which reduces the risk of thrombosis, but increases the likelihood of bleeding. The analgesic and antipyretic properties of acetylsalicylic acid are enhanced by phenocetin. The paracetamol present in Askofen-P indiscriminately blocks the cyclooxygenase enzyme, which helps to reduce the production of prostaglandins. It also directly affects the hypothalamic thermoregulatory center. Its advantage over phenocetin is that methemoglobin is not formed during metabolism. Caffeine has psychostimulant and vasodilating properties. This component normalizes the tone of cerebral vessels, accelerates blood flow, reduces the feeling of physical and mental fatigue and excites the respiratory center. The substance enhances the effect of other ingredients.

After oral administration, the active components are absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract quickly and almost completely (about 90%). The process of biotransformation takes place in the liver, and the excretion of unchanged substances and their metabolites is carried out mainly through the kidneys (approximately 80%); some is excreted in the bile.

Interaction with other drugs

Askofen potentiates the action of anticoagulants of indirect action and antiaggregants, and therefore, the risk of bleeding of various localization increases. It also enhances the effect of hypoglycemic drugs and steroids (glucocorticoids increase the likelihood of developing glaucoma).

With parallel administration, the effectiveness of individual diuretics also decreases.. Severe poisoning, even with a slight excess of the permissible dosages, can develop if the patient receives Phenytoin, tricyclics, Rifampicin or Zidovudine.

During treatment, it is highly undesirable to take other NSAIDs, since the risk of toxic effects on the kidneys increases.

Side effects

Most patients tolerate the treatment with Askofen well.

If you are allergic to the components, the appearance of skin itching and, as well, is not excluded. In severe cases, anaphylactic shock is possible.

V rare cases during therapy, the following side effects are noted:

  • feeling tired;
  • dyspeptic disorders;
  • violation of the clarity of visual perception near;
  • pain in the epigastrium (with the development or exacerbation of a and);
  • discomfort or pain in the abdominal region (with liver damage).

Askofen during pregnancy

The components of the drug are absorbed into the systemic circulation, bypass the hemato-placental barrier and penetrate into the breast milk. It does not have an embryotoxic and mutagenic effect, but it is better to refuse this medication for the period of gestation and breastfeeding, especially in IandIIItrimesters. If it is necessary to carry out symptomatic therapy during lactation, you should definitely consult with your doctor. In such cases, it is usually recommended to temporarily switch the child to artificial milk formulas.

Interaction with other drugs

Askofen's reception - n has a number of nuances in use. It can enhance the effect of some medicines when taken at the same time. These include drugs containing heparin, indirect anticoagulants and hormonal drugs.

Medicines that are used to remove uric acid from the body reduce their effect under the influence of Askofen - p. Simultaneous administration also enhances the side reactions of analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Therefore, one should be extremely careful when carrying out complex treatment.

Storage of the medicinal product should be carried out in a dark place, with a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. Two years after manufacture, the drug is not suitable for use. In this case, there will be no benefit from the medicine, and harm is likely.

In the second trimester, a single dose is possible. But there must be good reasons for this, since Askofen-p can have a negative effect on the development of the fetus.

On the early pregnancy it can provoke its interruption. In addition, there is a possibility of a splitting of the upper palate if you take the medicine in the first trimester of pregnancy. At the end of pregnancy, the use of the drug can affect blood circulation, the process of labor and cause pulmonary vascular hyperplasia in the fetus.

Sometimes such a symptom of pregnancy as a rise in temperature, women mistakenly take the onset of a cold, and take Askofen-p. As a rule, in such situations the risk possible complications extremely low. But you can protect yourself by drinking an activated charcoal tablet.

Raises or lowers blood pressure

Very often Askofen-p is taken and under reduced pressure. There is no information in the manual about this. But this fact exists. The composition of the drug includes caffeine, which can increase blood pressure and improve the condition of hypotensive patients. When it is taken, efficiency increases, weakness and a feeling of drowsiness disappear, dizziness disappears.

Askofen-p is relevant when changing climatic conditions. It is during this period that most people experience strong pressure surges. However, it should be remembered that the drug is not a panacea for regulating pressure, since not a word is indicated in the instructions about this.

In exceptional cases, hypotensive patients can take the drug, but with extreme caution. People with the reverse problem also wonder if they can use this drug. Since it can significantly increase blood pressure, its intake should be minimized or completely eliminated.

When breastfeeding

Interaction

Simultaneous treatment with Askofen-P leads to increased action, , indirect anticoagulants, and some hypoglycemic agents . It is also likely to reduce efficiency. , , hypotensive and anti-gout drugs which help to remove uric acid from the body.

Increased side effects noted glucocorticosteroids , derivatives sulfonylurea , as well as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and non-narcotic analgesics.

It is not recommended to combine this medicine with barbiturates , antiepileptic drugs, zidovudine, rifampicin and alcohol-containing drinks, because the likelihood of developing a hepatotoxic effect remains.

The influence of paracetamol increases the elimination period by almost 5 times. As for caffeine, it promotes absorption ergotamine.

Combination therapy with Salicylamide and other stimulants of microsomal oxidation contribute to the production of toxic metabolites paracetamol that adversely affect liver function.

Simultaneous reception with enhances absorption paracetamol . Repeated use can increase the effect of anticoagulants.

special instructions

Long-term treatment with this drug requires monitoring of peripheral blood and liver function.

Acetylsalicylic acid has an antiplatelet effect, for this reason, patients should immediately warn doctors before undergoing surgery that they are taking this drug. Low doses of acetylsalicylic acid reduce the excretion of uric acid, which often provokes a gout attack.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacokinetics

Acetylsalicylic acid rapidly and completely absorbed mainly in the upper small intestine. The half-life is 5-16 minutes. Milk and antacids do not reduce the rate of absorption. Acetylsalicylic acid and its main metabolite (salicylic acid) bind to proteins through their phenolic hydroxyl groups. It is excreted mainly through the kidneys. Paracetamol quickly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, evenly distributed in the tissues. The maximum plasma concentration is reached after 2.5 hours, the half-life is 2-4 hours, the bioavailability is about 90%, the degree of binding to blood proteins is 25-50%, it is metabolized mainly in the liver (up to 80-90%). The combination of acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol provides a more pronounced and prolonged analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect than when taken separately in equivalent doses, due to the possible competition between acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol for binding to plasma proteins, and paracetamol exhibits greater reactogenicity. This somewhat lengthens the period of circulation in the blood of free (active) acetylsalicylic acid.

Caffeine potentiates the action of paracetamol and acetylsalicylic acid.

Pharmacodynamics

The combined drug has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Acetylsalicylic acid It has antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects, relieves pain, especially caused by the inflammatory process, and also moderately inhibits platelet aggregation and thrombosis, improves microcirculation in the focus of inflammation.

Paracetamol has an analgesic, antipyretic and weak anti-inflammatory effect, which is associated with its effect on the thermoregulatory center in the hypothalamus and a less pronounced ability to inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins in peripheral tissues.

Caffeine increases the reflex excitability of the spinal cord, stimulates the respiratory and vasomotor centers, dilates the blood vessels of the skeletal muscles, brain, heart, kidneys, reduces platelet aggregation; reduces drowsiness, fatigue, increases mental and physical performance. In this combination, caffeine in a small dose has practically no stimulating effect on the central nervous system, but it helps to normalize the tone of the brain vessels and accelerate blood flow.

Indications for use

Pain syndrome weak and moderate intensity of various origins (headache, toothache, neuralgia, primary dysmenorrhea)

Diseases accompanied by fever of various etiologies.
